Welcome to West Windsor Archers
West Windsor Archers is an active and friendly archery club founded in 1970, based at Dedworth Middle School on the outskirts of Windsor, Berkshire UK. One of Berkshire’s leading archery clubs, our members are drawn from a mixture of ages, sexes and abilities shooting recurve, longbow, American flat bow, and barebow – practicing and competing at varying levels across four disciplines: target, wand, clout and field archery.
The club shoots outdoors at Dedworth Middle School during the spring and summer months and indoors at Eton-Wick sports hall during the autumn and winter. Informal practice sessions, fun-shoots and club competitions are regular parts of our shooting calendar and West Windsor Archers are very active in both local and national competitions.
West Windsor Archers shoot throughout the year and regular coaching is available for all members from our experienced and qualified archery coaches. Individuals who have taken an approved training course are invited to join the club and our members are always supportive of new archers as they learn and develop.
Outdoor Season (end of March to mid-October): the official club night is Wednesday, plus we have practice nights on Mondays and Fridays and club competitions on Sundays. Unfortunately, due to the reduced overshoot our outdoor range has we are unable to accommodate compound bows.
Indoor Season (November to March): we shoot on Wednesday and Friday evenings at Eton Wick sports hall and outdoors on Sundays (weather permitting) for chilly Frostbite rounds at Dedworth Middle School. We even have an outdoor ‘Soup Shoot’ New Year’s morning.
The clubs Shooting Calendar has all the details for the current season – we’re a hardy bunch and shoot throughout the year – come rain, wind, sleet, snow and even occasionally sun!
